Assessments of Thesis Program Applications

(1) General success grade of all applicants applying for thesis programs is calculated by considering 50% of ALES/ GRE/ GMAT score, 25% of GPA and 25% of entrance exam score.

(2) Entrance exam is held written or oral. If the exam is held written and oral, written exam score should cover at least 60% of the entrance exam score.

(3) In cases where the ALES/GRE/GMAT score is not required for admission to the graduate programs, the percentage of the undergraduate GPA and the entrance exam grade is determined by the relevant department and the Graduate School Board.

(4) In order for a candidate to be considered as successful in the graduate entrance exam, the general achievement grade must be at least 60 out of 100 points.

 

Assessment of non-Thesis Program Applications

(1) In the non-thesis graduate programs, general score is calculated by taking 70% of the ALES/GRE/GMAT score and 30% of the undergraduate GPA score. For the programs which does not require ALES/GRE/GMAT score, general score is calculated by the undergraduate GPA.

(2) In order to be successful in the non-thesis graduate program entrance exam, the general grade must be at least 50 out of 100 points.

 

Assessment of PhD/ Proficiency in Art Applications

(1) General grade of applicants applying for PhD programs is calculated by considering 50% of ALES/GRE/GMAT score, 25% of undergraduate and/ or graduate GPA and 25% of entrance exam score.

(2)  Entrance exam is held written or oral. If the exam is held written and oral, written exam score should cover at least 60% of the entrance exam score.

(3) ALES/GRE/GMAT score is not required for Faculty of Arts and Design programs.

(4) In cases where the ALES/GRE/GMAT score is not required for PhD programs, the percentage of the undergraduate GPA and the entrance exam grade is determined by the relevant department, the Graduate School Board and the University Senate.

(5)  In order for a candidate to be considered as successful in the PhD entrance exam, the general achievement grade must be at least 70 out of 100 points.
